Thanks
]]>^ I second this! I’m also an American looking to live overseas long term. I’d like to have more options for teaching locations and since I must do a certification program anyway, I might as well do the CELTA and save time. I’ve done my own independent research, but there’s so many options!
]]>Just a one thing I wanted to add as a former ESL teacher. If someone wants to work in Europe, CELTA is the best course to get. It is fairly expensive but can be done at schools in Eastern Europe for a good price (and a great cultural experience to boot!). Without CELTA in Europe, job opportunities are limited and the jobs you are offered will likely be with bad working conditions / a lower salary. You’ll recoup the money you shelled out on a CELTA easily and have a way nicer job.
(I also taught in Australia with a CELTA and the pay was excellent!)
