The restaurants were very costly. I travel solo and had no desire to go into a high mill reataurant tos this worked well and was a lot cheaper. And the oysters tasted exactly like the ones in my bay back home!

Hey Alex I have been all over Asia and parts of South America and I always eat the street food. Never have I gotten food poisoning from street food. I have gotten a case of the runs here and there but it’s worth it. I literally think about the street food I ate in Thailand on a weekly basis. To skip out on street food is to skip out on a huge part of a country’s culture. Eat it all. Just be sure to have some anti diarrhea pills just in case.

I totally agree with you. If someone isn’t going to try the local food they might as well not travel. My question is do you always drink the tap water? Sure the places you get might be slightly overpriced, but that they’d be overpriced enough to make it not worth it is unlikely, plus you can see sample prices from the menu to get an idea, and rating both from TripAdvisor and app users.

Haiti, where I have been many times, is a place where street food is always a no no, even though it looks and smells great! Just wanted more of your opinion on that and how you stay away from toxic food.
