In Europe I can recommend Prague in Czech Republic.
It is a beautiful historic city in the middle of Europe. It is safe and cheap here. Almost all people speak English.
In 2016 visited Prague more than 10 million tourists from around the world.
Everyone will find cultural activities.

This is such a strange article from a European point of view! Europe is more dangerous than it was 5 years ago, especially for young white women, but I still think of it a much safer place than the US. I suppose all we hear about is the aggressive border control, police violence and gun violence from there.

Thank you for this article, it puts things into perspective. My son and his wife are about to embark on vacation to Italy for their 20th anniversary, leaving their offspring, my beloved grandchildren in my care, ages 9, 16, and a 19 year old who does not need babysat, but still needs adult guidence. I have been subject to irrational fear about this, not about being with my grandbabies, but about their travels. I am now ready to wish them a romantic and joyful vacation and just pray as I always do for their safe return home. Thank you
