Kyoto, Tokyo and Hiroshima are still the most popular tourist spots, but I swear that there are even more interesting places to explore in Japan!
I’ve traveled to all 47 Japanese prefectures and there’s just so much people are missing if they stick with the “big 3”.

]]>We usually bought our tickets the day before or a couple of days before we travelled in case it was busy. I think it was about $160 for Tokyo – Kyoto. There are travel passes available but they didn’t suit our travel plans. Buy tickets at the JR Ticket Office (Midori-no-madoguchi).
